Live Today

Ginkgo trees are one of my favorites. I grew up in Chicago and many of our boulevards were lined with these lovely trees (thank you Frank Lloyd Wright). I took this picture a few years ago at an arboretum and the memories of the young healthy me came rushing forward.

Live Today

by Brenda Surin

When pain is crushing

your last bit of hope,

whisper to the you

you were –

“help me.”

Look in the mirror

of yesterday

when life was full

of tomorrows.

Wrap yourself in

memory’s power

and live.

Live today.
